Highly anticipated, CENTERSTAGE! 2009 is a music competition cum concert held in Dunman High School. This event comprises of two categories: Solos and Bands. Organised by the school’s Music Society, participation in CENTERSTAGE! 2009 is open to all students of Dunman High School.
The main aim of CENTERSTAGE! 2009 is to promote a musical culture in Dunman High School by providing a medium for students to showcase their talents and giving them a chance to experience performing in public.
Competition Details
Competition Categories
Category 1: Solo artist (Junior High or Senior High)
1) For solo singers only, with or without accompanying instruments.
2) A $5 registration fee will be imposed.
Category 2: Group (Junior High or Senior High)
1) For 2 or more individuals to perform together as a vocal group or rock band, with or without accompanying instruments.
2) A $10 registration fee will be imposed.
BOTH English and Chinese songs are permitted in this competition

Terms and Conditions
1. Please submit the registration form to the General Office where a box will be allocated. Deadline for submission is 17 July. Late or incomplete forms will be disqualified.
2. Participants can join a maximum of 2 categories (i.e. solo-solo, group-group, solo-group)
3. Music sung is limited to English and Chinese (Diction and lyrics is a major component of music itself)
4. A registration booth with be set up in the school canteen from the 16-17 July for the collection of registration fee.
5. Auditions will be held on 29 and 31 July at Blk G, Boulez room. You will be notified through email of the timeslot after registrations. Latecomers will not be entertained.
6. Contestants will need to prepare one song for the auditions. Some time will be given for setup and mic-check.
7. Voice cancellation will be provided for finals (if applicable). But contestants have to clearly indicate song titles and singers to the respective ICs of the event.
8. Contestants are required to provide their own equipment. Only drums, amps and microphones are provided. Organisers are not responsible for any damage or loss of personal equipment.
9. Senior High and Junior High will compete separately. 3 finalists from each category will be shortlisted to compete at the finale night of Centerstage! 2009 held at the Performance Arts Centre on 14 August 7pm. All finalists will be required to attend a full dress rehearsal before the show.
10. Judges' decision is final.
11. Inappropriate language and behaviour will not be tolerated. Contestants are held responsible for their actions. Any violation will result in disqualification.
